Human Abstraction

Shown here are two of my newer paintings, the small portrait has already sold, and the larger one is scheduled to go to an exhibition. In my work I always try to push my boundaries moving from expressive abstraction to realism, within my explorations I encounter many happy surprises that are created by these juxtaposed techniques and styles.

Painting at the Byron Bay markets

One of my new projects is to paint at the local sunday and weekly farmers markets these markets take place at: Byron Bay, Bangalow, ocean shores, the Channon .
You can find me there studying the market dynamic, people in conversation, browsing, children pulling there parents along etc. I have started humble with some small sketches, but expect in a few of months to see some interesting work emerging. This is introducing a new dynamic to my more composed works back in the studio.

Observing the people interact is like listening to a complex piece of Jazz, first it was doing my head in, but now I am starting to tap my foot to the beat:)
